    Assault on Black Reach - Getting Started with Warhammer 40k

    I created this thread for anyone who's either thinking about getting or already has the Assault on Black Reach starter set for Warhammer 40k.

    I setup a page on my Blog with some videos about this set as well here:

    Assault on Black Reach

    So far I'm very impressed with this set. For the price you pay there is a lot included in the set, even if the models in this set are not as detailed or customizable as the standard models. Either way, as a beginner they are a great way to learn how to paint anyways.

    I've never even heard of 40k before this evening, but I'm impressed! I checked out your blog and it's really beginner-friendly. I googled and wiki'd more information about 40k and I just might have to start doing it myself!
    Thanks for all the information you've given us;

    Thanks paulymath for the blog update. In fact I am beginning to gain a lot of interest in the painting skills. It has got a lot to do with game play.

    Hi guys,
    What are the Warhammer 40k figures and terrain made of? I heard that the terrain is plastic and all the buildings on it are plastic, but, the figures are made of clay? Is that right or wrong? It might be a dumb question but i'm quite new to this thing…
    Thanks

    Figures are usually plastic or metal. Terrain can be made out of anything from wood, to styrofoam, to plastic, to foamboard, to cardboard etc. It's made out of whatever your imagination can think of.
