Make Money Online Almost Guaranteed – Update
About a year and a half ago I wrote a post called “Simplest Way to Make Money Online Almost Guaranteed“.
In that post I outlined exactly the steps I followed to build a small mini site.
Well, after building that mini-site I totally abandoned it because I totally forgot about it.
Today I remembered about the site so I wanted to see if:
(1) It actually got ranked by Google for the keyword phrase it was targeting.
(2) It made any money.
I made this video to show you guys the results this crappy single-page website produced so far:

It proves that to be in the top 10 on google search brings traffic. If a website is more expanded, it’s easy to see that money can be made easily, when it offers what people want. Thanks for sharing!
That was pretty impressive. Amazing what can happen while you’re not paying attention! More so when you are. I have been too busy doing readings to actually try to monetize the site otherwise but I’m gonna get there!

Paul, I really liked your original post as it was very clear. I used it as a prototypical example when I started my blog.
I am actually surprised you earned more than a few dollars. Can you share your ideas on the effectiveness of AdSense concerning its placement on a site as well as the type of AdSense box: text vs image vs both, size of the box and colors of the links? Do you have an optimal strategy?
I am even more surprised your website is linked in the top 10. How would you explain that? Is is simply the low competition and the time the site has been online?

This was a great case study Paul for So many people just getting started, SEO seems like such a daunting task, But this really drives Home the idea that with a Good strategy right from the beginning, anyone can make money. Thanks man

About $18 doing absolutely nothing except what I did in that Blog post.
I think for another couple hours of work you could have earned alot more on this site. Some simple backlinks, and perhaps finding an AC Heli aff-program and you could have earned a couple hundred dollars.
$18 less cost of domain and cost of hosting you can say you pretty much broke even over the year (not considering the time you put into building the site). Still, it’s better then most people do with their domains!

I’ve actually tried this method a bunch of times. It really does work and it is super quick to setup like you mentioned. However for 3 hours of work I’d like to earn a bit more than $18 in 1.5 years. I’d put up at least like 5 pages and SEO them a bit and then see how it goes.
You’d probably get some better results if you did it that way

Of course. It is only an example site, not a real one. However, even my example site makes more money than most people’s “real” sites.
You have no idea how many people come to me for mentoring who have been running sites for like 3 years and they haven’t even made $0.01 yet.
I’m just trying to show that it *IS* possible to make money online. Not only that, but it’s also NOT THAT HARD!

. I guess I have the wrong mentality about this a bit. Should help and teach people first. It’s not about blogging to make money. It is about learning, having fun, writing about what you are passionate about, and helping others. Making money is just a bonus.
I can imagine that being true that some people have been online 3 years without making a cent. I had massive troubles at first when I started. Heck I still have huge troubles now but I am slowly learning.
