I always thought the same as you, why would it convert 400% more than a standard lightbox (which you can implement for free). Another option (free) I am looking at to increase signup is something called ViperBar plus, do you have any experience with it?
Yeah, I was SHOCKED that it converted 400% better than the standard ligthbox. I have not played with viperbar yet no, but after this experiment I’m going to be much more open to these types of things.

I haven’t seen your pop-up yet?? Also a big part of the conversion isn’t just the tool but the copywriting/graphics/color scheme of the pop-up.
The popup is setup on a different page on this site. I’m still working on implementing it to my main list. You’ll see it soon.
This thing takes care of most of the graphic/color scheme for you with their standard templates.
There are various tools that can help you increase your income. Using such tools help you but I am not sure whether Google allows the usage of such tools or not. You should be careful while using these tools as they can really cause issues to your blogs.
