I tripped over this post after an acquaintance of mine told me he had been diagnosed with parasites. The most disturbing thing was that these 'parasites' were not identified and he was told he could 'cleanse' them through diet and taking pricey herbal supplements. I was appalled at his storey and gradually learned he had been to see a 'Live Blood Analysis' specialist.
If I went to my GP and he told me I had parasites eating my red blood cells, but it doesn't matter what they are, just take these expensive pills for the next six months. I'd be seeing a new GP damn quick.
I'd love to see Marketwatch do an expose on these charlatans and see if they can identify any of the blood conditions they claim (or at least the things they should find).
These guys haven't been paid much attention to outside of Quackwatch, Science Based Medicine and the Guardian newspaper I suppose because they are a very fringe group (I could only find 4 in Canada). But they can still endanger lives and health and should be stopped.
I told my friend to bring this info to his (or any) GP to get a second opinion, I don't think he'll listen.

Paul, Have you considered going back for another test since we have been working on your diet? You are eating a lot more healthy. It would be interesting to see if there are any changes?
How long has your practitioner been doing these tests

I admire your intentions and initiative in bringing up the natural methods of healing... I have LBA device with me and im now learning how to use it. All i can say for now is that, the operation is technically dependent on the examiners hand, As i continue checking on the samples under the microscope, cell morphology do change due to oxidation and other factors. Some debris which are thought to be parasites or other organism may really show and that is dependent upon the hands of examiner on how he use the magnifier. I strongly think that visiting an alternative medicine practioner is a great move, but we also have to make sure of the practioner's intention. Courses on LBA operation teaches some theories that can't be related to the explanations in the books of medicine, they have a sort of different understanding on certain structures seen under the microscope. But then again, this is just like comparing oriental medicine to conventional medicine..... Anyways, LBA does help a person change by way letting a person see his cell condition live.... I'm an M.D. and im integrating natural medicine in my practice, that's why im personally learning about the modality before i apply it to patients.

@Jesse: The Standard American Diet, also called the SAD Diet, or the Western Patter Diet, according to Wikipedia is "characterized by high intakes of red meat, sugary desserts, high-fat foods, and refined grains. It also typically contains high-fat dairy products, high-sugar drinks, and eggs."

Basically, if you turn on a television and watch all the commercials throughout the day and write down all the foods being advertised in commercials, that would make up the diet. :)

We're told that "milk does a body good", not because it does, but because the dairy farmers are a for-profit business like any other. They test marketing campaigns and see what people respond to and use that. You don't see commercials for broccoli or cauliflower or apples, right?

A HUGE part of diet is what you drink as well. You didn't mention it, but it makes up a big part. I know many people who drink "fruit juice" thinking it's healthy for them, and made fun of me when I was drinking Coke all the time, but they don't realize that a lot of "fruit juice" sold in stores has more sugar than a Coke, more calories, and the juice is pasteurized so there are no nutrients left in it save for maybe Vitamin C.

Hey Paul,

What does your standard american diet consist of? I'd like to compare what I'm eating to what you're eating to get a general idea of how healthy my blood might be.

Breakfast: I drink a raw juice and raw nuts with some granola cereal.
Lunch: I eat a "Healthy Choice" which really isn't that healthy and is heavily processed.
Dinner: I eat some kind of frozen food - usually meat + cooked frozen vegetables + carbs (i.e. teriyaki chicken stir fry with broccoli).

I eat fast food (i.e. Subway) about 6 times per week.

-Jesse

P.S. I'm DIEING to know how you blood will look after you've cleaned up your diet!!!!!!!!

Hey Paul, sorry for taking such a long time to comment. I read the whole post a long time ago! I admire your ability to take the initiative! I would probably want to study more about the microscopes if I were you. But that scanner part of us always wants to hop around, and know everything! It's annoying sometimes, isn't it? But you know what, I don't know what I would do without it.

Hope you are able to live a new, healthy lifestyle, and you're doing well on the Weight Loss Challenge!
Josh Lipovetsky.

People, who want to lose weight, get more energy or improve concentration and general wellbeing will also benefit. People also wishing to determine the effectiveness of their current treatment regime whether it be holistic or conventional medicine will benefit immensely.

@Alice: Should be. I know some of the doctors and scientists that talk about LBA are from Germany. I'm sure you can find someone local.

Scary but interesting. It's great to see the reactions of your body directly instead of waiting for the disease before you do something. I wonder whether it's possible to do such a live blood check in Germany, too.
