The bracket got tied into the link I posted to the manifesto written Chris Anderson who went on to write a book by the same name.

This manifesto does nto go into the same depth as the book, but for free... can't beet the price. I recommend the book highly myself.

I am an avid proponent of "Long Tail Economics" (http://www.changethis.com/manifesto/show/10.LongTail). What is proposed in this book are along those lines. What is suggested in “Crush It” is to take the long tail position within a niche where there is no competition and you have the opportunity of being the first and therefore the best player in a new micro market.

The reality of most niche's if you read three books on a subject, you know 80% more than most people, read 5 more and you now know 99% more than most. Becoming the expert/specialist as recommended in the book and recommended against by you is not too much of a stretch, if you make the right investment of time and do the reading.

Paul, Gary Vaynerchuk IS a polymath. He's just a polymath that crushes each niche he focuses on. He could not stick to just wine, so he started a vlog, then started speaking, then started consulting, then started a t-shirt company with his brother, then helped launch a web-show with a friend ... I bet he has like 10 things going at once.

He is really directing his book to the people trying to get the ball rolling on the one thing that will put them on the map. I don't think his goal is to have you stay there forever.

Thanks for sharing your review!
