Connecting with My Purpose

I don’t think it’s a co-incidence that I’m writing about this on 11-11-11 (2009 reduces to an 11), but I finally feel much clearer and connected to my life purpose.

As some of you may know from my previous article “The Future of Inspired Money Maker“, I’ve been trying to get some clarity and make some decisions about the future of both this blog and my businesses.

The last few weeks have been a mind-blowing experience for me, all leading up to the last few days when everything just kind of fell into place and I’ve finally decided my future path.

The Last Few Weeks

Have you ever wanted to do something in your life, but were caught in some sort of “chicken-egg” limitation / scenario that prevented you from doing it?

For example, have you ever wanted to quit your job and find something more suitable, but found yourself unable to find any other jobs because you didn’t have the time to attend interviews because you were busy working at the job you couldn’t stand?

Or have you ever needed to get a loan, but the bank wouldn’t lend you any money because you didn’t have any money or collateral?

I’m sure you can think of some scenarios in your life where you wanted to do something (A), but in order to be able to do (A) you needed to first do (B), but you couldn’t do (B) because (B) required that you first do (A).  This is the kind of “chicken-egg” thing that I’m talking about.

Financing

Anyway, my affiliate marketing business has suffered from this kind of “chicken-egg” limitation for a while now.  In order to increase my income, I’ve been needing more working capital (money) to be able to make more money.  Normally this is something I could call my banker about and get a business loan or a line of credit, but with the new banking rules that have been put in place after the financial crisis in the US, my bank (and most other banks in Canada and the US) don’t offer loans to businesses that have been around for less than two years.  Since I incorporated my business in Aug 2008, I still have another 10 months or so before I could quality for a business loan.

So that has been a frustration for me for a while now, but a few weeks ago things changed.  To keep the length of this post reasonable I’m only going to highlight the main points of what transpired.

I woke up in the morning on a Thursday, frustrated about my lack of working capital.  I went back to bed and did a new meditation I’ve never done before.

About an hour later I synchronistically happened to be listening to a Marc Allen Audio CD in my car that talked about securing financing for your business.  Within a few hours, without any action on my part at all (except answering a telephone call), I had secured financing for my affiliate business from a man I’ve never met before in my life from a city I’ve never been to on the other side of the continent.

The event totally blew my mind.  This excuse of not having the working capital I need to grow my business, which I’ve been walking around with for months literally evaporated in a matter of hours.

Book

After the financing event transpired, I was walking around in a state of awe for a few days really feeling connected to my true self and imagining the amazing possibilities available to me if I could manifest something like that so quickly.

Another desire of mine that I’ve been walking around with for over a decade now has been to one day write a book and have it published by one of the top publishing companies.  Within days of the financing event, I was asked by a publishing company to submit a book proposal.  About a week or so later I was also contacted by another publishing company about helping to promote a book they are publishing and to open up a channel of communication with me.

Guidance

A few days later I woke up in the morning and asked for guidance from my guides to help me experience a Quantum Leap of growth in my life.  That same morning, a spiritual coach and friend of mine contacted me out of the blue and offered to help me experience a “Quantum Leap” in growth even though I didn’t tell her about asking about that exact thing just that morning.

That day I had an unusually profitable day for my affiliate campaigns and that same evening I stumbled onto a website which had a video presentation in which the person talked about taking a “Quantum Leap” in your life specifically related to your money situation.

The author on that website was selling a book called Busting Loose From the Money Game which I bought that same night in digital format, and read the whole thing the following day.  That book along with Robert’s other book (Busting Loose From the Business Game) which I read yesterday have provided me with the missing puzzle pieces I needed to get more clear on my True Purpose.

Other Events

There have been at least a dozen other events similar to the ones above, which have really expanded my awareness in the last few weeks.

Getting Clear on My Purpose

At first all the events that were transpiring kind of “baked” my mind.  I had all this new information/experiences coming in that were shaking up my beliefs and almost making me dizzy.

To tell you the truth it wasn’t easy or comfortable, but I think my mind has finally sorted through everything and it has become a lot clearer now as to what I want to do with my life right now.

It took a lot of clarifying and simplifying but I’ve finally narrowed down the Purpose / Mission for this Blog, my businesses and my life to be:

1. To help people connect with their True Self / Spiritual Self, to understand who they really are and where they really come from, and to help them clarify what their True Purpose in life is.
2. To help people transition from their current job / career to a career or entrepreneurial path that connects them to their True Purpose in life, and to help them make money doing that.

In a way, I’ve already been doing both of these to some extent on this Blog and in my life, but I now want to focus a lot more of my energy on these two paths.

This Blog has really been focused on #2, helping to connect people with the personal development resources they need to help them make money doing what they love (their purpose/passion in life).

I’ve written over 300 free articles on this topic, and I have plans to expand this out to more resources such as books and more structured courses on this topic, but I haven’t really focused a lot on #1.

I’m very confident in my abilities to help someone who knows exactly what their purpose in life is to make money and build a thriving business.  To that second part of my purpose/mission I want to add structure in the form of possibly writing books and/or producing multimedia courses.

The first part of my purpose / mission is something that I’m going to be working on developing.  I want to develop my intuitive abilities to help people connect with their True Self and really connect with their True Purpose in life.

Intuitive Abilities

Although this is not something I’ve written a lot about, I consider myself to be fairly intuitively connected.  For the majority of my life, while working in the corporate world I never really talked about intuitive abilities except with my closest friends and my wife.

In fact for the most part I’ve kind of ignored anything spiritually related in my life up until about six or seven years ago when I discovered a book called “The Science of Getting Rich“.  Although it’s not really a book about spirituality – it’s a book about money and wealth – the content of the book introduced me to New Age concepts such as “The Universe” and “The Law of Attraction” etc.

Previous to that, I never really saw spirituality as something that was very important in my life.  I equated spirituality with religion and I never really resonated with traditional religion, even though I was born and raised as a Roman Catholic.  As an adult, the only time I ever attended church was when someone was getting married or to attend a funeral.  Religion just never resonated with me.

To my surprise however, some of the spiritual concepts taught by most “New Age” books and courses totally resonated with me so I began to pursue them heavily.

My library of books went from being totally about non-spiritual personal development topics like “Time Management” or “Leadership”, to being full of spiritually related books.

Long before the movie The Secret came out, I was playing around with Law of Attraction and managed to manifest some incredible things that basically proved to me that there is a lot more to life than just this physical world we see today.  I guess you could say that the illusion of the physical world began to slowly dissolve for me.

In 2006, I began working with an “intuitive coach” and one of the questions I wanted to gain clarity on was whether or not psychic abilities really existed and if so how could they be used to help me grow consciously on my personal development journey.

I have to say that prior to 2002 my view of psychics and psychic readings was very skeptical.  At the time I knew of a few people who have gone and had psychic readings done and the information they were given wasn’t very “intuitive” to say the least.  However, I realized that I couldn’t judge something without having first-hand experience with it so I decided to try getting a few psychic readings done.

I wrote a more detailed story of what happened next on my old blog ( see here ), but the short story is that I no longer question whether psychic abilities are real.

Since then I’ve always wanted to take the strong intuitive abilities I have to the next level to see how far I can develop them, but until now I never really made that a priority.

Besides reading a bunch of books on the subject, and having had numerous readings done for me, about a year ago I took a course called Soul Realignment™ in hopes that it would help me develop my abilities further.

However, this was around the same time as my decision to leave the corporate world and to pursue my path of making money doing what I love working from home, so that course was put on the back burner until now.

My intention is to allocate a lot more energy into pursuing the development of my intuitive abilities, specifically around learning how to help people connect with their True Selves, their Spirit Guides and anything else that will help people understand their True Purpose in life.

Even though I feel that even as a kid I’ve always had a strong intuitive sense, I consider myself a total beginner to this area of study so it should be interesting to see how things progress for me.

I plan on documenting parts of my journey and what I learn on this Blog.

To all the analytical types, be prepared for some “woo woo” stuff.

I’m currently looking for a course or mentor to help me on my journey in this area.  I have a few friends who may be able to help me here, but I actually came across a course by Slade Roberson which he is releasing today called Automatic Intuition – Professional Intuitive Training Program.  I don’t know why, but for some reason the course outline really resonates with me.  I get this feeling that Slade may think very similar to me, based on some of the Blog posts I’ve read on his Blog.  I get the feeling this may be the course I’ve been looking for.

Blogging & Affiliate Marketing

I know some of you may be wondering where Blogging, Affiliate Marketing and generally Making Money Online fits into the picture here.  Does this mean I’m not going to be doing affiliate marketing anymore, or writing Blog posts about how to make money online?

The answer is that I see Blogging and Affiliate Marketing as integral parts of building successful online businesses.  By being a Blogger and an Affiliate Marketer myself, it gives me a real-world perspective that I can share with others and teach/coach them to utilize those kinds of strategies to make money doing what they love.

Blogging, Affiliate Marketing and Making Money Online all fall under #2 in my Purpose / Mission.  I’ll be writing more about this in the future, but I think it’s of paramount importance for people learn how to use those kinds of strategies to build their online businesses and to make money doing what they love.

Summary

The last few weeks have been fairly intense and crazy for me.  The clarity I’ve gained in connecting with my purpose however has been very exciting.

I’m looking forward to seeing where this road takes me.  If the expansion and growth I’ve experienced in the last few weeks is any indicator, this is going to be an awesome ride.
