How to Lose Fat Naturally with No Exercise – Day 8

Written by Paul Piotrowski - Monday, September 28th, 2009

So today is Day 8 of my plan to lose fat.  The week went by rather quickly, and it’s hard to believe that seven days have already passed since I started.

I’ve been experimenting with a few recipes and just starting to get into the swing of things of cooking at home.

Previously I used to eat out a lot, but now I try to eat at home as much as possible so that I have the most control of what I put in my body.

Getting Over My Addiction to Sugar

One of the biggest things I wanted to get over in my first week on my new plan was to get rid of my addiction to sugar.  In the past when I’ve done this, I experienced some pretty crazy withdrawal symptoms.

If you’re laughing right now because I’m making sugar addiction sound like some kind of drug addiction, you’ve right!

Scientists have done studies and have shown that sugar is more addictive than Cocaine.  Yes, you’ve heard it right… MORE addictive than Cocaine.

For those you who are thinking “Oh, I’m not addicted to sugar, I don’t really eat a lot of sugar” you may need to think again.  Except for people who are consciously aware of sugar’s addictive properties and who have consciously made an effort to get rid of their addiction, I have never met a person in my life who wasn’t addicted to sugar.  Most of them just didn’t know it.

You see, sugar is hidden in so many of the foods we eat, that we don’t even realize how much sugar we consume on a daily basis.

Drinking pop or eating donuts are two obvious examples of eating sugary foods, but most people don’t realize that sugar is added into almost everything we eat today, from fruit juices to salad dressings.

Have you ever baked your own white bread?  Do you remember how much sugar you added to that?  Do you have any idea how much sugar there is in a burger bun?

These are all hidden sources of sugar and we all crave them because we’re all addicted to sugar.

Anyway, this first week has been pretty good.  I didn’t experience as many withdrawal symptoms as when I previously went off of sugar.

I haven’t been entirely “clean” of sugar this week, but I would say that I reduced my consumption by at least 95% compared to what I was consuming prior to last week.

My Progress So Far

8 09/28/2009 206.60 52.89 153.71 25.6

So far I’ve lost a total of 3.4lbs in 7 days.  That gives me an average of just under half a pound weight loss per day, which is right around where I expected it to be.

If I can maintain this rate, I should be able to lose a total of 30 lbs in 52 more days, but it’s much too early to tell with only 8 days of data.

I’m still waiting for a specific supplement to come in too, which I think will boost my weight loss progress as well.
