High Impact Blogging Live Example

Written by Paul Piotrowski - Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Once I realized the potential in building High Impact Blogs, I began to really get excited at the possibilities.  Certain ideas I’ve had for sites and Blogs over the years which previously weren’t viable due to various factors such as content volume competition and time constraints on my part, now have become viable again.

One Blog I’ve always wanted to start was a Blog on the RC Car Hobby.  I’ve been playing with RC Cars for years and years along with my brother and several friends I know, but I’ve never bothered even trying to compete in that space since I just don’t have time to pump out high-volumes of content previously required in Blogging.  But now that I can so clearly see that volume of content really means nothing, compared to the quality and impact of the content you produce, I decided to launch an RC Car Hobby Blog.

For anyone unfamiliar with the RC Car hobby, these are not the $39 remote control cars you pick up at Radio Shack at the mall that I’m talking about.  These RC Cars can cost anywhere from $500 to $1,500 and reach speeds of 50, 60 and some even above 70+ mph.  Traditionally they came in a box as a “kit” which you put together yourself and accessorize with your own engine, electronics, tires, bodies and other hop-up parts; although in today’s market most are now available pre-assembled and sold as a “Ready-to-Run” package.

For anyone who’s never seen one of these in action it’s easy to dismiss them as toys for kids or super-geeks, but once you see one in action in real life all of a sudden you want to be a super-geek and go buy one.

Anyway, getting back to High Impact Blogging, I’m going to be utilizing high impact blogging tactics on my new site (as with all my sites) so it’s a perfect opportunity for you guys to see a live case study example of the site unfolding.  Some of you have been with me here on Inspired Money Maker since the very beginning so you’ve seen this site unfold from scratch, but many of you haven’t seen me build a site from scratch so this is a perfect opportunity to see that.

You could create your own Blog in your own niche and learn from what I’m doing and apply it to your own Blog if you’d like.  Or you could just watch from the sidelines and take notes.  It’s entirely up to you, I just wanted to let you guys know about this site I literally just launched about a week and a half ago.  Most of that time has been spent on research and design so I haven’t even begun building an audience yet.  I think I have like 3 RSS readers.

Perfect opportunity to watch a case study.

Research

One of the first steps in launching a High Impact Blog is doing your research on the marketplace.  I’m not going to give away all of the research I’ve done, but I can say that I’ve done a lot of research to pick the perfect domain name for the type of site I want to build.

In the RC Car Hobby there are essentially two types of people who participate in the hobby.  The first group is RC Car Racers.  These are the hardcore enthusiasts that live, sleep and breathe RC Cars.  These guys travel all over North America and the world to race and compete against other racers.  They are typically sponsored by specific companies who pretty much spoil them with endorsements, free stuff etc.  Most of the marketing and coverage in this market revolves around the racing world, as covered by most RC Car Magazines etc.

However, there is another group of people in the RC Car community who are known as RC Car Bashers (industry term, I didn’t come up with it).  These people usually have very little interest in racing competitively and take up the hobby mostly just to have fun and “bash” their RC’s anywhere they can find an open area.  This can take place in open fields, parking lots, back yards (if big enough), parks, and many other places.  Bashers typically focus on just having fun, often doing things like building jumping ramps to see how high they can jump their RC’s.

I’m not much into racing RC’s myself and neither is my brother so we’re definitely RC Car Bashers.  This is the group of people that my site is going to target, so the domain name I registered is RCCarBasher.com.  I still have a lot of work to do on the design and setup of it, but take a look if you’re interested.

Warning: I’m not responsible if you end up getting sucked into the hobby after watching the site unfold for a while.  :)
