Sure, accesstoinsight.org is a good site and endless-satsang.com has interesting content also. Some books to look into are; Change your Mind by Paramananda, the Venerable Lobsang Gyasto has a book on the Four Noble Truths that was one of the first books I read on the subject. Very good and a quick read. Mindfulness in Plain English by Venerable Henepola Gunaratana, A Gradual Awakening by Stephen Levine, Brad Warner wrote two books that might appeal to some. Any one into 80's hardcore might of heard of his band, Zero Defects. Bass player turned Zen Monk. I liked the two books. Radiant Mind by Peter Fenner, awesome read, kinda heavy for new comers. Sharon Salzberg and Joeseph Goldstein have a good guided course on Insight Meditation for people just kinda getting into it and Jon Kabbit- Zinn knows a thing or two. The list goes on but definitely all good stuff. I am by no means an authority. I have been practicing Vipassana for some time now. I know a few people who are up on personal development and talking to them, I saw some similarities so I started exploring the both sides. I like your site, I hope I didn't overload with too much info.

Good article, and I like that discussion as well. As far as LoA, I am exploring the definition as well as application. This LoA is relatively new to me, at least the particular label. I think that those who are interested would find worthwhile insight from looking into Vipassana meditation. There are discourses and exercises on identifying sensations, intent as well as other mental and emotional context. The Four Noble Truths and Eight Fold Path are a good place to start if someone is inclined to investigate for them selves. A true understanding of Karma might help it relation.

It's interesting to hear you talk about how people belive in it, or don't believe in it. As if it is a religion.
A fundamentalist christian would think the same way: Believers or non-believers.
The next level of thinking, beyond the law of attraction is a present state of awareness whereby regardless of you seeing someone as a believer or not-- you love them anyway, and don't see any separation between them and yourself.
I know for a fact that when I try to share the principles, whether or not someone believes it or not, I'm truly owning the principle when I can share and not judge whether they are believers or not. Even if they reject me....
Where is God not?

I do not exactly follow it,But have experienced it many times.
I was one of those who came to know of it during the hype period and then lost interest in it.

I was listening to another teacher's take on the Law of Attraction and he called LOA a general law that more vague for quantum physics. His term was now Law or Resonance and I think I'm more comfortable with that paradigm. We do manifest our intentions when our actions thoughts and vibrations resonate with like objects. The resonance is far more important than the desire to attract. Years ago, when I taught a singles group, I use to promote that you had to become the person you wanted to attract. Little did I know that I was practicing LOA or LOR in the early 1990's..

It is the New Year's syndrome. People start off with good intentions, but just like dieting - people tend to return to the rut. I became aquainted with LOA many years ago and did just that - practice it and fall away. Eventually I made some changes and now LOA is just a part of me and my beliefs and with me everyday.
The good thing about the LOA craze is all of the great blogs - like yours - that have been created and that provide so much awesome information for my never ending education :)

Great post...

So nice to see someone still posting about the Law of Attraction. I recently wrote about using the Law of Attraction to help you get out of debt on my blog.

I live the secret and everyone I share it with has seen an improvement in their lives (when they apply the principles)!

Dan Moore has a project entitled 'Beyond The Secret' coming out soon: http://www.scienceofsuccesscoaching.com/DVD/beyond_the_secret_dvd.html (not an affiliate link :) ) ... may be one to watch out for!

Regards,

Karl

Paul,

Thank you for the info. I read "The Science of Getting Rich" today and am happy to say that many of the things he mentions, I already incorporate into daily life. It may be hard to overcome the "competitive" traits but not impossible. I think, as you mentioned, it will be imperative that I read it again and again. It seems like it may be a tough task staying in the mindset that he mentions. Also not involving oneself in the thoughts of poverty or the impoverished may be tough. I may have some questions when I go through this again. Hopefully you have a second to answer them. Thanks again.
