P90X – Day 36 – Chest, Shoulders & Triceps
Man I really like this workout today. It was pretty intense, but the workout was fun. Last week when we got to the part in the workout where we had to do one handed pushups I couldn’t do any at all. I even tried doing them on my knees and I couldn’t do any. My triceps were just so torn up by all the exercises before the one handed pushups that I couldn’t even do one.
Today, just one week later I was able to do six one handed knee pushups. Yeah, I know they’re just on my knees so far but I was still excited that I was able to do them. That’s progress.
Also, during one part of the workout there was sentence that Tony Horton blurted out that I really liked. I don’t even think he meant it in the context that I like it, but he said “There’s time for everything.” I really like this affirmation. It’s kind of like the opposite of the affirmation I used to say all the time without realizing it “I’m so busy. I’ve got no time.” When I used to say that, I literally had no time, but then I changed my thinking and stopped saying that kind of crap.
There is another affirmation I heard once that I really liked and it was “So much time, so little to do.” It’s basically the opposite of the regular “So much to do, so little time.”
Anyway, that little affirmation “There’s time for everything.” really resonated with me today. I’m going to start saying that to myself all the time.
For breakfast/lunch today I had scrambled eggs with bacon and toast with Boysenberry jam. For dinner I had Boston Pizza potato skins and a pizza.

Do you go to the gym or do you have a home gym for your workouts?
@Paul: I workout at home. So far here’s what I use for my workouts:
- P90X System. TV and DVD player.
- Yoga Mat
- Set of resistance bands for my exercises, since I can’t do pull-ups yet
- I have a set of BowFlex adjustable dumbbells, but mostly I end up using 5lbs, 10lbs, 15lbs or 20lbs so this could easily just be a small set of dumbbells
- I use the P90X box as a “Yoga Block”
- Towel, water bottle
- P90X Supplements as recommended in the diet plan
