P90X – Day 12 – Legs and Back

Written by Paul Piotrowski - Friday, February 20th, 2009

Today I had to do some running around so I don’t have pictures of my meals.  In the morning I made a mushroom / egg-white scramble, but I think I made way too much as I was only able to finish about 2/3 of it.

After the food had some time to digest I started my workout about an hour later.  Today’s workout was Legs and Back, and I was a bit concerned about how my knee would hold-up during this workout since I slightly tweaked it on Tuesday during Plyometrics.  However, my knee felt really good today.  I made sure to stretch it out and warm it up properly and paid attention to make sure I didn’t jar it with any sudden movements.  I was really happy to be able to do the workout without it bothering me.

For lunch I just had my recovery drink and a protein bar, and then in the late afternoon I had a cheeseburger from McDonald’s as a snack to hold me over until dinner time.  I know it’s not the healthiest choice, but I didn’t want to go for too long without eating.  The P90X manual has a few fast-food restaurant choices that you can eat to hold you off until your next meal, but you don’t want to make a habit of doing that.

For dinner I went to a Sushi place and I had some pink salmon, some California rolls, some vegetable tempura, some Edamame beans, and a couple of chicken wings.  Still not the healthiest food, but I tried to pick some choices with some protein and without too many simple carbs.

My nutritional stats for today were:

Calories:  2354
Fat: 72g
Carbs: 292g
Protein: 142g
