Posting My Body Pics and Stats

Written by Paul Piotrowski - Saturday, February 7th, 2009

Well, I’ve done it.  Today I finally made the decision to post my body pics and stats publicly.  It wasn’t easy, as I’m not exactly very happy with the way my body looks right now, but I think it’s necessary to get my ass in gear to make some changes.

I also created the Body Transformation page you can see in the top menu where I will post the latest pictures and stats as I make progress.  One thing I noticed about taking some pictures of my body with my shirt off is that I actually didn’t realize my gut was so big.

When I usually see myself in the mirror, it’s typically when I’m on my way out the door wearing jeans, a shirt, a sweatshirt and maybe even a jacket so it’s really easy to hide a big gut, especially when you wear a lot of dark colors like I do.  However, when you put on a pair of shorts and take some pictures, it really opens up your eyes.

If I went back in time to 1995 and showed my 1995 version of me what I look like right now, he’d slap me silly.  What’s actually kind of sad is that right now I eat healthier than I did back in 1995, but I look much worse.  Back then I used to weigh 155lbs and I was in really good shape.  However, this was not because I was eating healthy, but rather because I was really active, playing a lot of sports and I was 19 so my metabolism was still turbocharged and I could eat virtually anything and not gain weight.

It’s funny because when I talk to some younger people they all think that they can eat anything they want and never gain any weight just like I did before I turned 25.  They have no idea that once you leave school and get a desk-job, and your metabolism slows down due to aging and loss of lean body mass, you’ll start packing on the fat if you don’t start taking care of yourself.  For me, the turning point was somewhere around age 25 – that’s when I really started to begin gaining weight.

Anyway, here’s my “Before” pictures and stats.  The reason I’m doing the “flexed” pose is not because I think I have big guns, but because a program I’m going to be going on asks for me to take before pictures in this pose so that I can compare it later to my “After” pictures.  Soon I’ll be announcing the program I’ll be going on, but for now here are my pictures and stats:

The 2nd and 3rd pictures are sort of funny, only because in the 2nd you looked slouched down and unhappy with your body, but the third picture your shoulders are up and you look happy. Anyway, good luck, I can’t wait to see the after pictures.

Why mess with perfection? Personally, I think you are one sexy bastard. More cushion for the pushin’.
Seriously though, you are one brave mofo Paul. We’re going to hold you to your results.

    On a lighter note again…
Is it just me or does that Tony Horton guy have a HUGE crush on that hot blonde Drea Webber (Flies through the air with the greatest of ease?). I don’t blame him, but it’s pretty damn obvious.

@DDS: LOL, I know what you mean. The reason for this is that in the 2nd picture I was originally looking at something on the wall that ways high up so it looked really weird in the picture because it looked like I was looking up into the sky. So, I re-took the picture and tried to have a more natural stance of looking straight ahead, but it turned out looking like I was slouching. The ones facing forward are more like me (happy, looking up etc.) although having my hands on my hips looks weird as I never stand like that and obviously the muscle pose ones are even goofier since I don’t have much muscle to pose.

However, later on when I have muscle, these pictures will be more valuable as a comparison. Man, you haven’t really seen yourself until you take pictures of yourself without clothing covering everything. I look like I’m 8months pregnant! :(

Great pics for motivation though, hehe.

Yes, I documented my 90 day journey of exercising every day back in January 2008 on my site (http://www.healthyfitguy.com/ ), but I made the mistake not to continue on with a maintenance plan after the 90 days was over and so I gained all the weight back. I started this new site as part of my new commitment to total health, fitness and healing.

@Game-girl: ROFL. Time to get rid of my one-pack and replace it with a six-pack. :)

ROFL. I know exactly what you mean. He always says “She’s Gorgeous!” and she always gives him this look like “Stop it! Not on camera!” hehehe. I’ve seen that on a few of the videos.

And sometimes he stares at her for just that moment too long if you know what I mean. :)
