I forgot which book it was in but it also told a story about inspired action. It was about the guy who kept praying at church all the time that he wanted to win the lottery. Then finally one day God spoke to him and told him to finally buy a ticket!

I always remember that story to remember that no matter how much I try to attract into my life, it still takes action.

Also Tony Robbins is great. He was funny in Shallow Hal, if people forgot.

@Bud: Yup. Most people who have never been "the boss" have very little idea how much it costs to run a business. Many times I've overheard people who work for other companies as employees complaining how little they get paid, compared to how much they think their boss rakes in, and it's mostly because they are ignorant of the true costs of running a business. For example, imagine if you ran a small consulting company with 10 employees besides yourself. Imagine that the average salary you were paying your employees was between $40-$60k/year, and about $20-$25k/month in overhead expenses (lease, heating, electricity, book-keeping, legal, insurance, alarm, etc.). Well just to be able to pay for those two expenses, you have to about a $400-$600,000/year salary expense for employees, and another $240-$300,000/year in overhead expenses. That could mean that if your business was making $900,000 in Gross Profit, you'd be just barely breaking even after paying your employees and your overhead expenses. Now imagine if you're in a line of business where you sell physical products such as computer equipment, or video games or something and you only make a 10% markup on your sales. That means that you would need to do like $9,000,000 in Gross Sales to make that $900,000 in Gross Profit to pay your employees and overhead expenses before you ever pull a dime out of the business for yourself.

I've talked to a lot of business owners over the years and it is actually very common for "the boss" to make less money than most of his employees. I'm not saying it's smart to do that, but I'm just saying that it's more common than you think. What's even more common is for the employees who make the $40-$60k/year in such business to *THINK* that their boss must be raking in MILLIONS because maybe they see the average sales on a daily basis at the $20-$25,000 mark and they think that the business must be pocketing millions with those kinds of sales per day. There are countless companies out there where the owner has five or six employees on payroll and most of them make the same amount of money as he does and sometimes even more.

For example, I know a lot of Domino's Pizza drivers can make more money per day with their tips than the franchise owner of the Domino's after he's paid all his fees etc. Pretty crazy eh?

Great article as always...

Did you REALLY only make 3000 dollars a year while running a MILLION dollar business? I find that incredibly hard to fathom.

Best regards,

-Bud

Looking forward to your reports.

I also think the emotional is important (analysis and intuition are both heady - the way I use the words anyway).

Getting in touch with our intuition is vital for our balance I think. There just isn't enough time to handle life with analysis!

Everything that Tony Robbins says, I listen. He is an excellent developmental and motivational coach. He seems to know what to say and how to say it. He really provides excellent information when it comes to public speaking

Hi Paul,

I love the way you write this article on regards to the masculine side and feminine side. What you will pick up in the 30 days program will be interesting and I am looking forward to your articles.

Cheers

It WAS a long post, but about halfway through I realized how much I enjoy your writing and also that I am in too much of a hurry, so I slowed down. I've been building my intuitive side mostly the past few years - it comes naturally to me - but can definitely relate to needing to focus on the masculine at the same time. I like efficiency and it just makes sense to follow inspired action. I don't have time for spinning my wheels. Thanks for your insight.
