I’m in a Book!

A couple of days ago, Rebecca Holman left a comment on one of my posts and she mentioned that she found my site after reading Joe Vitale’s latest book “Expect Miracles: The Missing Secret to Astounding Success”.  I was somewhat puzzled about this as I didn’t know exactly what she was referring to.  I actually have the book on order from Amazon, but it hadn’t come in yet.

Today I was out and I decided to check out the local book store to see if they had the book.  They had the book in stock and sure enough I found my story on pages 43-45 of the book!

Months and months ago Dr. Joe Vitale sent me an email, wondering if I would be interested in submitting my story as an inspirational example for his upcoming book.  I jumped at the opportunity and submitted a brief story about myself and my personal experiences with the Law of Attraction as well as Dr. Joe Vitale’s books such as The Attractor Factor and his Executive Mentorship Program, which all played major roles in my life in the last few years.

I actually totally forgot that I did that, but apparently he must have liked my story because it’s one of the stories he ended up including in his latest book “Expect Miracles: The Missing Secret to Astounding Success”.  It’s a really neat experience to walk into a book store, pick up a book from the bookshelf and have your name and website mentioned within it.  I was so excited I bought three copies!

One of my goals in life is to write and publish a book and I’ve done visualizations where I walk into a bookstore and walk up to a book shelf and see my book there.  Even though I haven’t written and published a book yet, this felt like a mini version of that visualization.

There’s something even more synchronistic about this as well.  The story I wrote in there is basically a summarized version of my personal journey towards financial abundance over the last 10 years.  The weird thing is that just two days ago I wrote a post (Financial Abundance: Is the Journey Worth It?) in which I talk about the same journey.  It’s neat that I felt inspired to write about the same journey just two days before I found out that it was now also published in a book.

The Power of Listening to Your Intuition

What this really demonstrates even more clearly to me is the amazing power of listening to my intuition.  When I received that email from Dr. Joe Vitale, my intuition immediately told me to take the time to respond.  The email was sent out to a lot of people and only a very small handful of stories would be picked for the book.

I could have easily ignored the request like I’m sure most people did, but I remember thinking that if I do write my story and it does get printed, it could potentially inspire a lot of people who are now at a low point in their lives, possibly on the verge of bankruptcy like I was 10 years ago.  Even if it just inspires one person to climb their way out of the kinds of financial problems I was going through at the time, it would be totally worth it.

In a recent email, Dr. Joe Vitale mentioned that this may very well be his last book.  He has no plans to write any more books at this time.  If I didn’t listen to my intuition and if I was too lazy to take the time to write out my story and send it in with no guarantee that it would ever be used, I would have missed out on this unique opportunity to appear in what could very well be his last book.

When your intuition rings your bell, do you listen to it or does your negative self-talk drown it out?  Because you never know how the smallest thing you think, say or do will affect your life, it is imperative that you begin listening to your intuition.  Also, when it comes to utilizing the Law of Attraction, it is of equal importance to realize that just because you can’t see something happening, it doesn’t mean it’s not happening in the background.

Over the last few months, totally unknown to me, Dr. Joe Vitale and his publisher were putting the finishing touches on the book, getting it ready for publishing, getting the book printed and delivered to all the book stores and I didn’t even know about it until Rebecca Holman was nice enough to leave me a comment and let me know that she found my website in the book.

Just by listening to my intuition, and investing about an hour of my time to write and submit my story, there are now probably hundreds of thousands (or more) of copies of this book out there with a little part of my story in them, potentially reaching people who may benefit from it.  Not only that, but the book also has the web address to this Blog in there too, which means that even more people will be exposed to all the free resources I provide on this website.  Not a bad payoff for listening to my intuition and taking a bit of inspired action.
