Example of How to Make Money As An Affiliate Marketer – Part 2
Ok, so in Part 1 of this series we basically covered the very basic steps of getting an account opened up with Amped Media and then we picked a random offer to use as an example and then I showed you where to find your personalized affiliate link for that specific offer.
Prior to going through this part of this tutorial, you should have your account setup, offer picked and affiliate link ready to go.
Step 2 – Creating Your PPC Campaign
Ok, so the next step after picking my offer is to setup a Google Adwords campaign to start sending traffic to the offer. Obviously this is a massive topic of its own and there is no way for me to dive into all the details and best practices of creating a PPC campaign, but here are the very top level basics of what you need to do:
(1) First I clicked on "New Online Campaign" inside your Google AdWords account. When the popup menu comes up, I just selected "Start With Keywords". (See Below)

(2) Next I named my campaign "Free Diabetic Guide" to keep things simple, and I named my first adgroup "free diabetic guide" as well. Since the offer is in English and available only within the United States I selected English as the language and "United States" for targetting. This is very important. Don’t send Canadian or UK traffic to an offer only available to United States people as you’ll just be wasting your money. (See Below)

(3) Next I created my ad. For my ad I just put in the values below. Notice the Destination URL I put in. That is your tracking URL you got from step 1. This will make sure the traffic sent from this ad gets tracked and you get paid so don’t forget to include this link in here otherwise you’ll be losing money and not making any sales. (See Below)

(4) Next I went ahead and just picked 6 keywords off the top of my head. You will want to experiment with a much larger variety of keywords but I just picked these ones for my example. (See Below)

(5) In this step I setup my daily budget for this campaign and my maximum CPC and content bid amounts. (See Below)

(6) And finally I confirm that all the information was setup properly. (See Below)

Summary
As you can see, the basics of how this all works are rather simple. You create a campaign in Google Adwords which will target people looking for diabetes information and you send them to a page which offers them that information.
What I’m demonstrating here is called "Direct Linking" where I’m basically directly sending traffic from Google straight to the offer page. Direct Linking isn’t always going to work due to several factors, but you won’t know until you try.
For me, going through this setup process when I first started and actually seeing the statistics reports in my affiliate account actually showing clicks coming in kind of closed that "Loop" of how this works in my mind. Of course this is a very simplified version of what you’ll need to do, and there is still a tonne of things we can and will want to adjust, tweak and setup differently such as picking different keywords, creating a landing page in between Google Adwords and the Offer Page, split testing everything and creating multiple Ad Groups to name a few.
I hope this quick overview example at least gives you a quick idea of what is possible though especially if you’re just trying to find a way to get your first few clicks, which eventually lead to your first conversion, which eventually lead to your first hundred conversions and so on.
See if you can at least get to this point and I’ll cover what to do next soon. If you guys have any questions feel free to leave a comment.

I’ve also been using direct linking but then sometimes I think Google doesn’t really like it as I see a them charging a higher one per click. But then I just have a terrible skills on making landing pages so I oftentimes stick to direct linking…
This was the information I’ve been looking for. Wish I had read this a while ago.
