Tyler Cruz and Market Leverage Contest Winnings Are Here
Last month I lost the competition I was running with Richard Bonner, but actually I didn’t really lose. The reason I really didn’t lose is two-fold.
Firstly, the entire goal of the competition for me was to attract some traffic and buzz around this new Blog. My competition with Bonner turned out to resonate really well with most of my new visitors and a lot of them ended up signing up for my email list, my RSS feed or both. The end result? I now have 100 RSS readers on this Blog. That is the fastest 100 RSS subscribers I have built on any of the Blogs I have ever started. So really, even though I had to pay out the cash for the competition, it was a great investment to build my initial seed of readers.
Secondly, while Bonner was busy competing with me for the $175 prize pool to give away to his readers, I was secretly competing in another competition over at Tyler Cruz’s Blog. I ended up placing 1st Place in the "Top New Affiliates" category and 2nd Place in the "Top Main Affiliates" category. By winning that competition I ended up scoring some cool prizes. Here’s what I got:
The prize pack that Market Leverage sent me included a Flip Mino which is super cool because I’ve been wanting to get one for the longest time (they’re hard to find in Canada!), a Flip Video mini tripod and a soft pouch neoprene case for the Flip as well. In addition to that, they also sent me a $50 Amex card and a $100 Amex card. Not a bad score!
I want to thank Tyler Cruz for running the Affiliate Challenge over at his Blog and Dina Riccobono and Rebecca Mercurio over at Market Leverage for sending me the cool prizes, as well as Erick Bright at Market Leverage for answering my "noob" affiliate marketing questions.

Congratulations! I’m jealous of your Flip Mino. I have it’s fatter, older cousin the original Flip.
Now that you have a Flip Mino, I expect some video posts soon! The quality of the flips are really nice and they’re really handy little things…
@Tyler Cruz: Yup, I know…no more excuses, I have to get some video’s up.
I got it charged up a bit yesterday and shot a short clip of my dog and was going to play with editing it but my stupid computer kept rebooting with the Blue Screen of Death. I think I may have some faulty ram or need some new drivers or something. It was late, so didn’t bother playing around too much since it needed a full 3 hour charge anyways, but so far I really like it. Very slim, very good quality of video considering what type of product it is, and super easy to use.
I’m going to try taking it with me everywhere I go so that I can shoot video all over the place and then pick and choose what kind of stuff to put on my Blogs.

Wow that’s some awesome prizes, I’m going to be watching for the next tyler cruz competition, too bad I missed this last one. And gaining 100 subcribers from a contest is awesome, you can’t complain with that kind of growth.
