So which strategy did you end up going with? Top-down, bottom-up or your hybrid?

Great post, I didn't understand those two approaches before, but you explained them very well. That diagram is very helpful. And I hadn't heard that story about Tony Robbins, that's Very cool.

I think a hybrid is best, at least for me. I like to hang out at the bottom and do some pre qualifications. Stuff I picked up from various blogs, like diorex. Then do some basic testing, work my way up. Get to the top keep going with that, but on a separate note turn around and then go back down. Pick something and really narrow in. I suppose once you are started it doesn't matter too much. You can flounder around and then go both directions at the same time. Its good to plan though, if you aim at nothing you will hit it every time.

I came here, i read the contents and i subscribed :-)
Actually why i did that - Because lots of Affiliate marketing Gurus Claim that "they Make money online by telling people how much money i make online" But they never reveal thier affiliate marketing secrets, The way you illaborated the whole thing will definetly help the layman to understand what the hell this affiliate marketing is all about

I also try to keep the thing simple and understandable at my blog.

Keep on writting good Stuff - You are in my bloglines

Great advice! In any industry, a strategy is the first step to success. This is no different for affiliate marketing. While it will depend on the individual which approach to use, A/B testing and evaluating campaigns are essential! Tony Robbins is also a great source for advice and motivation from a general business sense. Great job so far, in affiliate marketing and blogging. Keep it up!!

@Richard Bonner: Yes, I'm eagerly waiting for it come out too! It's too bad we can't order it earlier as I'm ready to devour it right now. :)

Good perspective on affiliate marketing, since the talk we've had I've reevaluted my views on affiliate marketing - I guess I'm going to hang on until the new ppc classroom comes out before I go into it any further.
