101 Inspired Affirmations Desktop Background

Written by Paul Piotrowski - Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Sometimes I like to think of creative ways to get more positive affirmations into my head.  One thing I realized over all these years is that I spend a lot of time looking at my computer screen.  So, I started thinking that there might be a much better way to utilize all that screen staring.

So, here’s what I did.  I fired up Photoshop and I created a simple, black desktop background for myself, and in a slighly lighter gray color I wrote out the 101 Affirmations To Help You Make Money Doing What You Love.  I picked a font that’s fairly easy to read, although the dark grey color makes it fade just enough into the background not to draw too much attention.

What this does is it allows me to be able to read what the text says if I really want to by focusing on it, but really if I’m just working away on my computer the text is dark enough that it just fades into the background and I don’t see it anymore.

What’s cool about this is that while after a few days I may not notice the desktop background anymore, my subconscious mind does.

If you’re like me and you like affirmations you may like this desktop, so I’m including it for you here in this post.

Just click on the image to see what it looks like in full screen mode.  I made it 1600×1200 resolution which should scale down to any screen size below that.

Hopefully the grey text is not too bright.  I made it just bright enough to see if you focus on it, but not so bright that it’s distracting.

This is the second background I’ve made similar to this, and the first one only took me a few hours to become “blind” to.  At first it looked like it was sticking out, but after a few hours I became consciously “blind” to it which is awesome.  Then it can do it’s magic and just ninja mind melt itself into your subconscious.

If you want to see what it will look like in your background, in Windows just click on the image above and then when it loads up the larger version, right click on it and click on “Set as Desktop Background”.  If you’re a Mac user, I’m not sure how to do it as I’ve never used a Mac.  Maybe someone can leave a comment for how to set a desktop background on a Mac, or if someone wants to send me a free Mac laptop I can figure it out and update this post. :)

Enjoy.

    Wow, thanks Paul!

It looks awesome on my laptop. Now I can work away knowing that I have positive affirmations absorbing into my super-conscious mind… It’s a beautiful thing.

@Paul: That’s a great idea :-D Goes well with your Modern Day Vision Board.

  5. @Thomas: Thanks… I use it, so I figured someone else might find some value in it.

  6. I love the concept and the affirmations. The subconscious mind is very powerful and we need to be feeding it positive vibrations at all times. Thanks for such a great tool.

    Many blessings!

You know, it’s often the simple things like this that are the most powerful – I usually have a nice screen or two from digitialblasphemy.com as my backdrop but I’m going to try this as a change.

Well done Paul. Oh and if any ones giving away Mac laptops, can I have the next one please (I want to do an iPhone version of my current project).

    Jon…
