What Will Push You Over The Edge?
We all have “valid reasons” for why we’re not making money doing what we love. For some of us it’s the lack of time or the lack of start-up capital. For others it’s the lack of support of our spouse, the lack of other resources or perhaps even the excuse that we haven’t yet found what we love to do.
We hide behind our excuses and we keep ourselves busy in the daily drama of our lives. Deep inside our hearts though, lies the seed of passion. It’s this seed that connects us to our purpose and it’s growing impatient. You can’t keep running from it forever.
Our spirits are patient with us, but they won’t wait forever. There will come a time when your spirit will rise and push you out of the little comfort safety cocoon you’ve built for yourself, and you will no longer have a choice. Something will push you over the edge. What will it be for you? Getting fired or laid off from your job? An unexpected illness which brings things into perspective? An accident, or a relative passing away? A milestone birthday?
Why do we need to wait for such drastic events to affect us before we get off our butts and build up enough desire to commit to doing something with our lives? Why not start now, while we still have time and do things in a calm, proactive way without the stresses created by waiting too long.
Start today. Find your passion. Build the fires of desire within. Unleash your creativity and get past the illusionary excuses that are keeping you stuck in the daily cycle that’s leading you nowhere.
It is always your choice. You can try to procrastinate for as long as you want, but your spirit isn’t going to wait forever. Something will push you over the edge sooner or later. And all the “valid reasons” that are keeping you paralyzed right now will all of a sudden feel like minor inconveniences compared to the major and all-of-a-sudden urgent task you’ll be facing.
Do yourself a favor.
Make it much more fun and relaxing by not waiting to the last minute.
Start today.

There are lot’s of reasons for not doing what you love, but in the end the ratonale behind them become very fragile in every case. It is so true that for all but the most benign people, not doing what they love will eventually push them over the edge. Unfortunately sometimes it doesn’t push them into action, but into despair. You’re doing your part to help as many people as you can go in the other direction!
Even if they end up in despair for a while, it typically eventually drives them past that and into action. The most dangerous place to be I have found is in comfy-comfy land where your outer self is comfortable and stuck in a pattern but your inner self is eating itself alive from the inside.
It’s comparable to a bullied kid at school who seems to be taking all the abuse from the outside, but inside he’s just waiting to snap. There’s all this pent up energy inside that’s just waiting to let loose.
When your spirit begins to “deconstruct” your little ‘comfy-comfy’ land because it feels it’s being ignored for too long, if you’re not aware of what’s happening it can be really frightening.
If you are aware, and lets say you lose your job, you can say to yourself “Ok, I guess it’s time to pursue my true path now.” etc. The same thing can happen from a sickness etc. A lot of people who have had tragic events in their lives later thank God for such events because they pushed them out of their shell and forced them to get out there and do what they’re supposed to be doing. It’s like a wake up alarm.
Beep – Beep – Beep – Beep… time to wake up. The good news is that it’s a sunny day outside.
Indeed an awesome article to get us motivated! Good one!
That is the kick in the butt I needed! It can be a tough struggle every day to keep at it – keep going towards your dreams and fighting to get to where you want to be. Truth is, the more you do it, the easier it becomes, and the easier it becomes, the more you love it, and the more you love it, the happier you are! It’s such a wonderful chain of events
