Making Work Optional – Book First Impressions

Written by Paul Piotrowski - Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Now that a few publishers are sending me free books, it’s quite fun for a book junkie like myself to go to the mailbox every morning to see if anything new has arrived. This morning I received a copy of “Making Work Optional” by Jay Kelly, C. Lenny Henderson, and Jeremy B. Johnson. “Making Work Optional” is a book written by three former financial advisers (two were also Certified Financial Planners) who have used the advice in “Making Work Optional” to leave their jobs to pursue their passions.

The book is written from a financial planning and spiritual guidance perspective, and promises to teach people how to realize the dream of leaving their job in fifteen years or less. Making Work OptionalFrom past experience I have been very weary of books written by “accountant” type people as they always seemed to have far too conservative of an approach strictly focusing on “cutting costs”.

I’ll dive into this book over the next week or so and get an idea of how exactly these authors propose to help people become Inspired Money Makers in 15 years or less, and report back as to whether I’d recommend the book or not. If nothing else, they do certainly have the right title. :)
