How to Make Money Doing What You Love Carnival – Issue 3

Written by Paul Piotrowski - Sunday, May 18th, 2008

Welcome to the May 18, 2008 edition of How to Make Money Doing What You Love Carnival – Issue 3. Holy smokes I had a lot of entries this week. I had to trim the entries down a bit to keep the articles relevant to the theme of “How to Make Money Doing What You Love”. It seems that a lot of people have been submitting entries relating to financial services and such, unrelated to the theme of the Carnival.

So, after some trimming and pruning, here are my top ten favorite articles this week in the order they were submitted.

Cindy King presents Book Review – Letting Go Of The Words – Writing Web Content That Works By Janice Redish posted at Cindy King, saying, “Letting Go Of The Words is a must read for anyone involved with a website or blog. This is not about the tools you need or anything technical. This book is about web content and information strategies. It’s about “planning, selecting, organizing, writing, illustrating, reviewing, and testing content”…that gives readers a successful and satisfying web experience.”

Ginger M. presents Specify Your Ideal Job Today | Growing Happiness posted at Growing Happiness, saying, “10 years ago, I specified the conditions of my ideal job on a piece of paper. Now, I’m living the dream.”

Keith Godorum presents Lock-in $2.99 A Gallon For Gas… posted at Keith Goodrum, saying, “Here is a great example of using a marketing strategy that is not easy to copy. This will allow you to hold a competitive advantage for a longer period of time.”

Steve Faber presents - Free Blog Traffic – How to Get More Traffic to Your Blog posted at Home Based Business Success.

Mike Leonard presents What type of Second Income person are you? posted at Until Debt Do Us Part, saying, “The headline screams at you “Make $5000 a month in your spare time”. Curious to find out how this is possible you read on. It appears that it is a Multi Level Marketing (MLM) scheme. You read a little further and then you lose interest thinking to yourself that it is a scam. How on earth can someone make $5000 per month in their spare time? I tend to agree with your first reaction – initially at least. It does seem like a bold claim.”

TheLifeLessTraveled presents Word Nerd Gets Paid to Name Products for a Living…And How You Can, Too! posted at The Life Less Traveled, saying, “Interested in a cool and creative job? Amanda C. Peterson is a professional namer for Landor, a branding consultancy, coming up with monikers for snack food flavors, technology spin-offs and everything in between. After years of working in advertising planning and copywriting, she made the leap to worrying about Latin root words and trademark attorneys. For of hers you’ve heard of (Freescale, Photoshop Lightroom) there are hundreds of products and companies that get great names that never make it. Read on to learn about how Amanda became a professional namer and how you can, too.”

Heather Johnson presents Guest Post: What employers want from Online Resumes? posted at Charlotte JobSpot.

Amanda Moore presents How My Passion is Changing My Life posted at VagabondetteVA, saying, “This is a follow-up to a Dosh Dosh article about how having passion for your business can increase your success.”

Edith presents 51 Life Lessons Learned from Starting My Own Business posted at Edith Yeung.Com: Dream. Think. Act.

Kathleen Gage presents Internet marketing is all about luck….or is it? posted at Street Smarts Marketing & Promotions, saying, “In the last few days I have had conversations with more than one person about their frustration with not selling their products from their website. Their frustration stemmed from the fact they sent out one message, put a product up on their site to sell, or made a blog posting and the flood gates of sales didn’t miraculously open up.”

This next post is somewhat unrelated, but it was pretty damn funny so I had to include it in. :)

Rickey Henderson presents A Memo from the Office of Steven R. Lawlor, CPA, to Indiana Jones posted at Riding with Rickey.

The next 8 submissions didn’t quite make it into the top 10, but I’m sure you’ll find them interesting.

Terry Dean presents Art of Persuasion posted at Integrity Business Blog by Terry Dean.
