2 pieces of opposing wisdom. Einstien said "If we keep doing the same thing; we'll continue to get the same results". This was also his definition of insanity. (doing the same thing expecting different results)

On the other hand Solomon wrote "There is a season for everything under the sun.

Let's examine this. If I have a great Idea to sell "North Face" down jackeets which I've negotiated at a great bargain. Truly a fine product of quality. However I open my store in July and I find that sales are almost non-existent. So out of frustration and 4 months of straight losses I sell.

The new owner does nothing but reopens the store in the 3rd week of November. Business is flourishing yet the store still has the same employees and the same "Ancil Adams" prints on the wall.

Changing demographics require a constantly changing business plan in almost every business except the "bathroom Tissue" industry. Externalities will require most businesses to make a tweak to stay profitable. In the above example, doing nothing until the cold weather months arrived would support your thesis. On the other hand; sticking the down jackets in the back while featuring a line of "Ray Ban" sun glasses and Surf wear might keep you profitable and afloat until November.

Just my .02 (USD)

Nice article. Many times in the past I have gotten all fired up about something (worse time is as I am lay in bed trying to get to sleep) and then soon after I have wondered what all the fuss was about. Challenges often look grave at first which creates frustration, but soon look lame after some thinking time, often without any conscious thought. It's amazing how the subconscious can solve problems. I still play strategy games on my PC (again, not good before bed) but after a little downtime I can go back to it and solve puzzles easily. My subconscious must work it out.

Time works, if you can allow yourself to use it!
