The Logo Creator 5.0 Review
This is a paid review for a logo creating software called The Logo Creator 5.0. For any of my readers that are going to be venturing down the path of starting their own business, the process of coming up with a company name and designing a logo is one of the first steps of getting started.
Traditionally I have always done logo design for my companies using Photoshop, however Photoshop is major overkill if all you’re looking for is an easy to use software package that just does logos. The Logo Creator 5.0 comes in a few different flavors. There is The Corporate Logo Edition, The Business Mascot Logo Edition, The Travel and Leisure Logo Design Set, The Entertainment Logo Edition, The Spiritual Logo Collection, The Real Estate Logo Edition, The Sports Logo Collection and The Mega Pak Logo Collection which basically includes all of the above.
Essentially what you get with these software packages is an easy to use logo creation software package that comes pre-packaged with sample logo ideas for different market segments. You can see a sample of the kinds of logos that each package comes with so that you can decide which one best suits your needs.
Here are a few samples from the different packages:

So what you can basically do with the software is open up any one of these designs and just change the text within to reflect your company name. For example if you look at the first logo above which says “Spiritual.com”, I could easily replace that with InspiredMoneyMaker.com for example. It doesn’t take long at all to do this and it’s pretty easy to get the hang of the software.
I played around with it for about an hour and a half and I was able to whip up logo ideas really quickly based on the templates included. You don’t have to use the pre-created templates, you could definitely create logos from “scratch”.
At the end of the day, I personally don’t feel comfortable using a pre-defined logo template for my needs as I don’t want anyone else out there to have a similar logo to mine, so I would probably go through the process of using the software to design a logo from scratch, but you may be totally ok with utilizing some of the ideas included with the software for your needs. Keep in mind that the templates are just basic ideas. You can create anything you want with this, so you aren’t just limited to having a logo that looks like one of the ones that is included in the package.
The website offers a free Downloadable Demo version of the software that lets you try it for 30 days, as well as a tutorial section which shows you how to use the software.
I think if you’re in the market for a logo design, and you don’t want to pay a designer to do it for you, you might as well try this thing out to see if it does what you need unless you’ve already shelled out the money for a copy of Photoshop and you already know how to design your own logo’s in there.
I don’t know if I’ll end up creating my logo in this software as I already own Photoshop, but if I didn’t I would definitely take the time to go through the tutorials to see if this software would fit my needs.

I’ve tried this and I think it’s a good solution if you want to get going on a new business idea without having to spend money unecessarily on logos and other marketing stuff. Particularly if you’re trying out a new idea and don’t have lots of capital to waste.
The interface works nicely and as you said you can have something usable in minutes.
I think though that if my business idea was really going to take off I would either employ someone more creative to provide a professional result, but I wouldn’t mind if they used this tool to do so.

@Simon Stapleton: Absolutely. It’s a nice little package to get started quickly.
Later on, if your company starts to really take off you can devote a bigger budget to things like Logo Design.
