How to Visualize Without Attachment

Written by Paul Piotrowski - Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Learning how to visualize has been an important part of my personal development journey. One of the coolest little visualization techniques I learned along the way is called The Pink Bubble Technique.

It’s a nice little visualization technique I learned from Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain which I highly recommend.

The technique basically involves closing your eyes and relaxing yourself to start. What you do next is you try to visualize the thing that you are trying to attract into your life and you visualize it already happening. So, for example, if you’re trying to attract a car you would visualize yourself already driving it and enjoying it and really feeling the feeling behind the visualization.

What you do next is that while you keep the visualization in your mind you imagine a pink bubble floating in space and you put your visualization inside that pink bubble. In the car example, it may be that you imagine the whole car surrounded by a floating pink bubble or perhaps you might visualize a mental video clip of you driving the car inside the pink bubble.

Next, you watch as the pink bubble gently and slowly begins to float away from you and out into space. This symbolizes emotional detachment from your desire and you’re basically ‘letting go’ of it so that it can go out into the universe and begin gathering and attraction the energy for its manifestation.

I have used this technique repeatedly, especially for material objects that aren’t really that important for me to have immediately but that I would like to have eventually. For example I’m going to do this now with an iPhone which I’d like to get when they become available in Canada. I just did a visualization with that, seeing myself holding the iPhone, dialing home to talk to my wife on it, listening to some MP3′s while drive home, putting some personal development MP3′s on it, and just generally using it day to day.

I also visualized a case for it that clips onto my belt that’s comfortable. I then visualized myself pulling out the iPhone and while holding it out in front of me a pink bubble came out and wrapped itself around the iPhone and slowly carried it away into space so that it can gather the energy for its manifestation. That’s it.

That’s all I need to do for this visualization. It’s a really neat little visualization that I’ve used many times before and have been able to attract all kinds of neat things with it. Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain is a great book for anyone wishing to learn some practical visualization techniques. It’s a classic that belongs on everyone’s bookshelf. :)
