7 Things I Learned about John Chow

Written by Paul Piotrowski - Saturday, October 27th, 2007

StevePavlina.com. I’ve watched his Blog grow with blazing speed and I definitely qualify him as an Inspired Money Maker. Here are 7 things we can learn from his success:

1. When the Moment of Inspiration Comes, it Doesn’t Take Long to See Success

John Chow’s income from his blog in the first month he monetized it was $352.94. This was September 2006, just over 1 year ago. His income followed this growth pattern:
Sept 2006 – $352.94
Oct 2006 – $1,361.64
Nov 2006 – $2,139.93
Dec 2006 – $2,790.05
Jan 2007 – $3,440.66

Sept 2007 – $20,512.17

As you can see, his growth in just one year is incredible. John committed and acted on his Inspiration and the results didn’t take long to show up.

2. John Gives Back
In his article, A Time To Give Back, John lists how he donated the earnings from the first three months of his Blog to various charities. He continues to support various charity drives such as raising $3,700 for The Union Gospel Mission to help feed over 1,400 people on the streets of Vancouver this Thanksgiving.

John has also run countless contests and give-aways for his readers.

3. John Doesn’t Take Life Too Seriously
Just one look at his ‘About Me’ page and you can tell that John’s a bit of a goof and not afraid to show it.

4. John Loves Some Friendly Competition
Just about every time I visit his Blog, John’s stirring up a little bit of friendly competition with someone. His latest one is the John Chow Vs. Shoemoney RSS Competition. Friendly competition can be a great way to give you a goal to strive for and it generates great publicity.

5. John is a Positive Thinker
John’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. He’s been Slapped by Google and Booted out of the Top 100 by Technorati yet he continues to grow because of his attitude of Turning a Negative Into a Positive.

6. John Does Not Budget
I’ve had an on and off relationship with budgeting myself. Mostly it’s been off. For some reason it just resonates some form of lack mentality when I focus too much on lowering expenses. I prefer to focus the majority of my time on increasing income. Seems like John does the same as described in his article – The Joy of Not Budgeting.

7. John is NOT Afraid to Make Money
If he ever had it, John has clearly cleansed himself of The Mental Virus That’s Keeping You Broke. As you can see from his Advertise page, he has zero problems asking for money to get paid for what he loves doing.

Well done John. I wish you continued success.
